Course Description

Participants will gain insights into the potential health effects of ammonia exposure, recognizing symptoms at various exposure levels, and administering appropriate first aid. Additionally, the course provides guidance on basic first aid techniques and assisting in emergency response situations until professional medical help arrives, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals working with or around ammonia.

Learning Objectives:

1. Symptom Recognition: By the end of this course, participants will acquire the skills to recognize symptoms associated with different levels of ammonia exposure, from mild eye and respiratory irritation to severe respiratory distress and skin chemical burns.
2. Prompt First Aid Response: Learners will be proficient in the appropriate first aid measures to be taken following ammonia exposure, including steps such as removing the affected individual from the source of ammonia, providing respiratory support, and administering eye and skin care.
3. Emergency Response Assistance: Participants will understand the importance of basic first aid in an emergency response context, including the principles of monitoring vital signs, providing comfort and reassurance, and the potential need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
